Since then, she has demonstrated an outstanding dedication to service and a deep commitment to education, as well as to the well-being of students and communities in northern Coclé. Her journey with the Academia Forum Foundation began under the mentorship of the late John Y. Consequently, she was entrusted with the administration of Academia Forum, where she took on key responsibilities such as recruiting low-income students from northern Penonomé, Olá, and La Pintada, and identifying the educational and social needs within these communities—particularly in their schools. Over the years, her tenure with the Forum family has been defined by dedication, commitment, and a love for education. Her work is reflected in the development and growth of the many generations of students who have passed through Forum, leaving a significant mark on their lives. Elvia has spent 16 years with the Academia Forum Foundation; throughout this time, her kindness, empathy, commitment, and spirit of service have distinguished her, serving as a source of inspiration for students, parents, colleagues, and members of the communities served by the organization. Currently, together with Ms. Janet Robinson, the members of the Board of Directors, the administrative team, and all of Forum’s beneficiaries, she continues working to strengthen the legacy of service, generosity, and love for Panama left by the late Mr. John Keffer—may he rest in peace—whom he remembers with deep respect and gratitude.
